The emerging Civil War series

For the past few years there’s been a new Civil War book series coming out pretty regularly. It’s known as “the emerging Civil War. “. 50 or 60 of the volumes have appeared. ChrisMackowski oversees the series and Ted Savas publishes it.

The volumes are roughly 100 pages apiece and generally focus on a particular Civil War battle in Virginia. A lot of the battles covered happened to be in the region of Fredericksburg Virginia. That means there are books on Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, the wilderness, and Spotsylvania. One of the most appealing features of each book is an automobile tour of the battlefield towards the end of the book.

One of the series most popular authors is Sean chick, a young man who lives in New Orleans, Louisiana. Sean is going to edit the five volumes devoted to the various offensives launched by ulysses S. Grant during the siege of Petersburg Virginia. I can’t stress strongly enough how important this series is. It’s going to put the siege of Petersburg on the map. How many people haven’t even heard of these operations? Not very many.

I co-authored the second volume, which is devoted to the third offensive, and which consisted of the first battle of deep bottom and the Battle of the Petersburg crater. My co-author is John Schmutz. I’ve been told that the volume will appear next year.

I am currently writing the final and fifth volume in the Petersburg series. This volume will cover the events of March 29 through April 1, 1865 and will include the battle of the Lewis farm, the battle of the White Oak Road, the battle of Dinwiddie courthouse, and the battle of five Forks.

I could use the help of all of you Civil War aficionados. Maybe you can look at what I’ve written and give me a reaction. Maybe you can share with me your thoughts on any these four battles. I will be grateful for whatever you can offer
