Do you know for what he was going to be executed? Was it one of those retaliatory things that went around? Please don't spend any time on it, I was merely wondering if you knew off hand.

Mr. Carter:

According to the following 1867 news item, Castle Thunder went right back to the tobacco business after the war. The victim shot for looking out the window mentioned was Theodore V. Brandis, who was shot by a 16 year old guard, Robert H. Burford. I have previously posted on that shooting on this board. Thanks for posting. (See Column 4, On down a ways)
