THE WOUNDED

Twenty-two severely wounded soldiers, from the fight on Thursday, arrived by the Fredericksburg train at three o'clock on yesterday; they belong to the 15th and 6th Virginia Virginia cavalry, Lomax's brigade. We learn from them that the fight was exceedingly severe. In the earlier part of the engagement, the 15th was ambushed by the enemy, and received a galling fire almost at the very muzzles of the enemy's muskets. Our men fell back in good order, taking off their wounded, and returned systematically to the charge, driving the Yankees out of their cover, and inflicting upon them severe retribution.

THE WOUNDED

Yesterday evening's train brought in 14 wounded men of Lomax's cavalry brigade, who were engaged in a skirmish on Thursday. They were generally terribly wounded. One man had his tongue nearly shot off, the ball entering one cheek and coming out the other. The tongue was hanging by a shred out of his mouth. Another had his leg taken off by a round shot.
