Two Randolph Harrisons (34th and 46th VA)

Bear with me on this one. It's confusing.

I am going through the order of battle for the Army of Northern Virginia in October 1864 at the Siege of Petersburg, trying to document organizations and their leaders. If I'm reading everything right, there appear to be two men named Randolph Harrison, one a Lieutenant Colonel of the 34th Virginia, and one a full Colonel of the 46th Virginia. Both are listed in OR XLII Pt, bottom left of page 1190.

The full colonel of the 46th Virginia appears to have been captured on October 27, 1864[The Confederate Order of Battle, Volume 1: The Army of Northern Virginia by F. Ray Sibley, Jr., page 150 and a source I read online but didn't document earlier this afternoon]. To make things more confusing, the Lieutenant Colonel of the 34th then appears to have been jointly commanding the two regiments on October 31, 1864, a few short days later.[Sherwood, G. L. and Weaver, Jeffrey C. 59th Virginia Infantry (H.E. Howard: 1994), p. 78]

I checked the Compiled Service Records of the 34th and 46th Virginia regiments at Fold3.com and there does appear to be a Randolph Harrison in each of these regiments. Can anyone confirm/refute that these are different men? I still tend to want to believe it's one guy for some reason.
