Announcing the publication of a new book "They Also Served: The Confederate Niter & Mining Bureau District 4 1/2 - Staunton, Va." The book is hard bound, contains about 200 pages, 8 1/2 x 11, and tells the history of the mining of saltpeter in a section of Virginia and a part of West Virginia. It also contains records of individuals who sold supplies to the Confederacy and a roster of men who were employed in the operation and also a number of those involved in the production of iron in the area.
