Bushrod Johnson wrote almost daily reports for his division. There is probably one for Sept. 11, 1864. You can find out the activities of Wise's brigade on that day. Here is a link to his report in the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies, Volume 42, Part 1.

You ought to look at the regimental history for the 26th Virginia which was published by Harold E. Howard as part of the Virginia Regimental series.

My guess is that Sept. 11th was just another day in the trenches.
