His records are found in the National Archives Compiled Service Records which have been copied and available on-line through the subscription service Fold.3.com.

The National Archives records were compiled by the War Department ca 1890 +/- from available records recovered from the war.

The other record I summarized was derived from the Historical Data Systems folks who found his record in one of The Virginia Regimental Histories Series books covering his unit.
