What else do you wish to know? I have been lecturing and writing a book on the Civil War on Virginia's Eastern Shore, including the life and raids of Thaddeus Fitzhugh. Dr. Fitzhugh knew the Eastern Shore well, having spent summers and holidays there with his brother, Philip A. Fitzhugh. His March 1864 raid decimated the Federal operations on Cherrystone and the people of the Shore were penalized by Edwin Stanton for their "complicity" in Fitzhugh's raids. At war's end, Fitzhugh settled on the Shore, married, and practiced medicine in Onancock for several years before moving to Texas.

It was my pleasure to visit Fitzhugh's grave in Wyandotte Cemetery, outside of Kansas City, Kansas, last summer while in the area for a speaking engagement.
