Peter H. H. Proctor, age 20, 4th Sergeant, Captain John D. Imboden’s Company (Staunton Artillery) Virginia Vols.*, enlisted April 17, 1861 at Staunton, advanced to 1st Sergeant, subsequently reduced to the ranks, no dates, wounded in action May 12, 1864, captured at Strasburg October 19, 1964, sent to Point Lookout, Md. from Harper’s Ferry, West Va., October 24, released on taking the oath of allegiance, May 14, 1865, Carpenter, resident of Augusta, County, Va.

* This company was successively designated as Captain Imboden’s, Captain Balthis’ and Captain Garber’s Company Virginia Light Artillery. It served for a time in the Battalion of Reserve Artillery commanded by Major Jones and Cutshaw, which were temporary field organizations composed of independent companies. It was also known as the Staunton Artillery
