George & Stafford Grimes

Since these men were Virginians, I'll post here. I've never read " Black Confederates and Afro-Yankees in Civil War Virginia," but I've been told author, Ervin R. Jordan states these two brothers, free Blacks, posed as whites in order to join the Confederate Army. They are reported "deserted" on 4/20/1862. Then POW at Yorktown 4/25/62. They take the oath at Philadelphia, PA, 9/28/1863. George then returns to their unit in Feb, 1864, and is court martialed. Does anyone have any further info these men ? At the end of the statement, "court decided he was a Negro," are the letters, NFR (no further record ?)
