I read that the famous song "Dixie" was written by Dan Emmet a minstral preformer from Ohio.
I am deeply saddened about reading that about my once favorite song in the world.

I used to be an activist for southern heritage but now I am questioning every thing I thought I knew about the south.
How could a pretty song like this be so racist?

Someone please tell me something positive about it and restore my love for southern heritage. :=(
