Private William B. Conner, Company H is recorded on October 31, 1863 as absent, absent without leave since 20 June 1863. There are no subsequent muster rolls in the records for Company H. Hence, we do not know if he ever returned or was later dropped from the rolls as a Deserter. As it is from the records, their is no listing of him as a deserter.

There is in the record for Lt. Wm. B. Conner, Co. F who was dropped May, 1862, a card for W. B. Conner, Co. H who signed for an issue of clothing November 5, 1864 signing as William Conner

Also in Company H was Corporal William Conner whose file shows a number of receipts for clothing in 1864 which are listed under William Conner.*

* There’s a good chance that their may have been some commingling of records.
