Thanks Fredrick It appears to me James wanted to go with his brother Benjamin but was too young to actually enlist so Benjamin wrote his name down after his father Ambrose gave verbal consent to let James go with his brother.
And now I can say that my family has fought and died for the CBF so sad.

Anyway here is my family tree to prove that James is Benjamin's brother I know that there is only one Benjamin West in company E so this has to be who im looking for.
