Dobyns for 3 years or the war, received $50 bounty, noted in first quarter, 1863 as Deserted, believe subject of a Court Martial May 18, 1863, receipted for an issue of clothing September, 1863, signing with an ‘X’, his mark, admitted CSA General Hospital, Charlottesville, Va. September 15, 1863, Debility, transferred to General Hospital, Lynchburg, Va. September 21, taken prisoner May 12, 1864 at Spottsylvania
C. H., arrived Point Lookout, Md. prison May 18, transferred to Elmira, N. Y. August 16, died of pneumonia January 7, 1865, buried grave no. 1296

July 23, desireous to take the Oath of allegiance to the United States, November, 1864, died February 4, 1865, Variola (Smallpox), buried in grave no. 1824
