I am looking for an account of a scrimmage between troops from Gen. Wade Hampton's Cavalry and Union toops at Little Washington, Rappahannock County, VA, Nov. 8, 1862. Hampton was almost captured as he ate dinner. I have an account that a dance was also going on with local ladies and officers from the CSA cav. The dance was also interrupted by the arrival of Union troops. Any information would be a great help.
