Berryville wagon train raid
My great-great grandad was with the 15th West Va. Infantry and kept a diary in which I have.I have researched it extensively.Excerpts from Aug.9-14 1864 he wrote about there were 40 soldiers [including him}starting from Bolivar Heights to Cedar Creek.I assume this was the same train Mosby attacked on the morning of the 13th,but other than my ancestor's diary I have not found any other records indicating the 15th being guards on this wagon train.Does any one know where there may be records that would reveal they were.My Great great grandad did not mention anything about the attack.
