Richard B. Foley was my 2nd great grandfather. He was wounded at the Battle of Clark's House on May 18, 1862 against Union forces under the command of then-Colonel Rutherford B. Hayes (23rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry). This engagement took place at the home of Henry Clark near present-day Camp Creek, West Virginia. He didn’t die until 1880. He is buried on Camp Creek in a difficult to access road within the current boundary of Camp Creek State Park.
