Stan

They more than earned their keep at Gaines Mill, at Second Manassas, and at Sharpsburg. And William T. Wofford was the only non-Texan who ever commanded the brigade.

I have some up-dated information on the Texas Briade Association. They are still active and welcome members from descendants, collateral or direct, of men who served in the brigade. That includes men of the 2 Arkansas, the 18th Georgia, the Hampton Legion Infantry, and Reilly's Rowan (N. C.) Artillery, in addition to veterans of the First, Fourth and Fifth Texas.
