William B.Cox is found on the 1860 census, a neighbor of Samuel Anderson and his married daughters.

William B. Cox mother was a Shannon. His Father was John Cox. Clarinda Massey daughter of Martha Ellen Massey and James Massey married a John Shannon Bass, whose mother was also Mildred Shannon.

In the Dennis family, Martha Ellen Anderson's sister Eliza W. married Jasper Dennis.

Two other sisters married Gentry men and Mathis Men,as well as Martha Ellem (my 2nd gr. grandmother when her first two husbands died.

There is no doubt in my mind that Samuel Anderson , my 3rd gr. grandfather knew the Cox family and that William C. Anderson, his nephew killed John Cox and Clemuel Davis.

The same William C. Anderson that killed a man in Brown County,Texas and claimed to be "Bloody Bill" Anderson. He was a citizen of Stone County and made a break to Texas to save his own hide to the arms of his dear Uncle Moses and his cousin Martha Elizabeth ,whom he married.

He was not William T. Anderson of the Quantrill Raiders.
