Rachel (Brooks) Beckner is buried at Abby Frost Cemetery. Her daughter Sarah Ellen Beckner married Barney Kemp. They were my great grandparents. I read that her stone is one repaired by the Boy Scouts. Thank you Boy Scouts for helping people like me find where are ancestors have been laid to rest. Is there any history to be found of Rachel? Her husband was Benjamin Beckner who apparently died in 1881. I have not proven that date for myself. I also don't know where he was buried. He is in some county records but I have no other information about either of them in TX. Their parents were in MO at one time. Her parents are Elizabeth Davis Brooks (b KY) and Henry Brooks (b VA). Benjamin Beckner's parents were John (b PA) and Mary Duncan (b Ireland) Beckner. Rachel's sister, Josephine was married to Enoch Bennett of Dallas TX. I appreciate any information sent to me. I will be happy to share all the information I have which unfortunately is very little at this point.
