I need a little bit of help. I am working as a research assistant for a local historian who is writing a book about the crew of the USS Monitor. One of the crew members, Matthew Leonard who served as first class fireman, died while being held as Prisioner of War at Camp Liendo (aka. Camp Groce) in Walker County, Texas in 1864. I have had difficulty locating information on Camp Liendo or on Mr. Leonard after he was taken prisioner. I was wondering if you could be of some assistance.
