In what unit did your ancestor serve? The Confederates established a camp near Minden in early 1865, and it was occupied for brief periods by Polignac's and Forney's divisions of infantry. Polignac had one Texas brigade, and all brigades of Forney's division were from Texas. It was my impression that the camp had been abandoned by June 1865.
