Bill, all of that is true except the Tonkawa's did occasionally eat their enemies. In his book, "9 Years Among the Indians", Herman Lehmann wrote about riding with a band of Comanches who found three of their brothers murdered and one of their legs roasting on a Tonkawa fire. A fight ensued between approximately 75 Comanches and Kiowas vs. 30 Tonkawas who were overwhelmed and defeated. The Comanches hacked off their limbs while some were still alive and threw them into fires. They threw live men, less body parts, into the fires.
