James Polk Knight

While researching the Knight brothers in Co H, 1st Texas Infantry I came across a copy of an Athens Daily News (17 April 1972) which stated that James Polk Knight was the sharpshooter who killed Gen. Sedgwick at Spotsylvannia CH. He also is said to have received the Gold Star for service. In Rhea's book on Spotsylvannia, union troops claimed to have killed the sharpshooter shortly after the Sedgwick shot while troops from the 12th and 15th South Carolina each claim that they were the shooters. Any thoughts.
