Thanks George, I've seen that the Methodist church served as a Union Hospital during the war, but I've never seen any documentation to support it.
Also Confederate soldiers died at a hospital in Austin, Arkansas in 1862, which may have also been a church, but no documentation on that either. I'm looking for a letter or something that states a church at Austin, Arkansas served as a hospital during the war. There was a large number of sick and dying Texas confederates in and around Austin in the fall of 1862. I thought Texas soldiers might be the best place to find a source for a church or churches being used as a hospital at Austin during the war .... letter, memoir, or something.
