It was "Love Me Tender" with Elvis Presley in his first acting role(1956). The fictional Reno brothers are with the confederate cavalry and stop & rob a union payroll train near Greenwood,La. in april,1865 of over $12,000.00. They originally intend to turn the money over to the confederacy,but find out later the war ended the day before; so they decide to keep the money and go home to east Texas. Great plot. There were 4 real Reno brothers in Indiana who were notorious robbers and they are credited with the first U.S. train robbery on record. I believe this occurred near Greenwood,Ind. in 1866. I think they got over $16,000.00...Big haul for those days. Eventually they were all hanged for murder. Hope this was the answer you wanted. Charles.
