James Lockley Pension App.

Anyone who has ever served in the armed forces during a war understands the bond that soldiers feel between each other. Many bonds are unbreakable for life. James Lockley applied for a confederate pension in 1913(102 years ago) and requested the help of 2 former comrades who had served in the same unit to assist him in getting the app. approved; Enoch Heusler & Alexander P. Wallin who appear on the muster rolls of Waul's Legion,Willis' Cavalry Battalion. These men,who lived many miles apart in Texas, and who probably had not seen each other in over 50 years, rallied to James's side and, under oath, wrote that they had served with him in the same company. Whatever he wrote down they affirmed as the truth. This was solely done for comradeship and because they all went through a lot together, which sealed them forever as brothers. I will not let anyone belittle this or diminish it. If I have offended a certain person today it was done without malice. I do not apologize because if I did it would be admitting that 3 brave old soldiers formed a conspiracy. In fact it was just 3 old soldiers reaffirming their bond. No more. It is also a well known fact that many underage southern boys served in the CSA throughout the entire war;some as young as 12. Charles Lockley
