Bacon for Vicksburg

I would assume some of this Pork came from further up the Red River in North East Texas
The Steamer Vigo left Sheveport, Louisiana, April 08th, 1862, with a cargo of 125,000 pounds of Bacon for the Garrison at Vicksburg.
It picked up an additional 55,000 at the Steam Boat Landing near Minden, Louisiana.
It is quite a story.

Can anyone add addition information from Texas??????
