I'm also interested in the 13th Texas Infantry. I'm struggling to finish transcribing a set of letters from Lt./Capt. William H. Herndon, Co. D, to his wife back here in Tyler (hers to him are easier). There's also an associated set of letters from Dr. William J. Goodman, also from Tyler, which are held in the Pearce Collection at Navarro College. Goodman was surgeon at Velasco. Smith County had several companies in the 13th Texas Infantry.
