The State of Texas issued Texas State Treasury Warrants made out to the various counties for this fund. I have a few both 1864 and 1865. Some of the latter are dated late April of 65. The actual amount issued to the counties can be found using the,"Guide and Index to the Texas Confederate Audited Civil and Military Claims 1861-1865." by the Texas State Archives.

There is much fascinating information here. During the war all purchases by the State of Texas for both Civil and Military purposes have been recorded. First sent to the auditor for validation and then to the comptroller for actual payment. Often unresolved historical issues can be resolved by,"following the money."
