Chase throws a curveball with the blacks

A false assumption on my part almost cost me a grievous error insofar as Camp Chase history. I had known many blacks were also taken as prisoners at Fort Donelson and Island Number 10 and just assumed that the blacks that died at Camp Chase had been with the confederates.

While at the NARA in DC I was looking through the Camp Chase hospital records and located one of the blacks who I thought had been with the confederates. He however was a servant of a Union officer and the servant had died at the Chase hospital.
