However, WC Moore apparently did not return home to Marlin for good until at least 1864, by which time his wife was dead (no one knows how/where) and his children had been adopted out. This makes me wonder if he served again with Hightower/Waller with Sibley/Green in their missions. He was a farmer, so the loss of his horse could have been rectified if he made a trip to Marlin from Louisiana.
