Re: Lt. Edward Ashby, Co.H, 10th Texas

If you want to read what the 10th Texas did and were they fought, there are two books on Grandbury's Brig. of which the 10th would become a member. One is "Grandbury's Brigade" and is the latest, the other is "This Band of Heros" which has been out since the early 1990's. They are both good, and the earlier book has a complete list of those members of each unit within the Brigade. The is even notes by some of the names that add information about the person. Example, Tom Connely who was the grandfather off John Connely who was governor the day Kennedy was shot is in the 7th Texas, a John (if I remember right) was in one company and his slave enlisted in a different company in the 6th. Both books have their own strong points so I can't say which I liked the best. Sorry to say you need both.
