Thank you for your response and congratulations on your book.
Re: Camp Verde, the time period of my interest is 1864 on. I am confused about which force was at Camp Verde in 1864-65; was there any Confederate force (effective) at Camp Verde during the closure of the war say April-May; what military or Frontier defense force was there between that time and occupation by Union forces. Who was the commander at Camp Verde 1865?

I am also searching for the time that Duff actually left the area for San Antonio.

I am writing a historical fiction book the background of which is the Ranger/Frontier force, primarily Frontier Battalion 1874-1880.
My great grandfather served in Company C Frontier Battalion 1876-1879. Pleasant Lavaga White. I have started researching Frontier Battalion for that reason. So far I have a lot of material on Frontier Battalion but not a lot specifically on Company C of his time period. Most of my research has been online and several books preparatory to a research trip to Texas in 2012.

Thank you.
