Re: Camp Boluxie, I.T.; ? Wichita Mountains

The names are very similar but if Scanland's was in the Wichita Mountains, they were a long way from Bokluksi in present Pittsburg County.

The original name of McAlester OK was "Bucklucksy" ("Bok Luksi" -- Choctaw: Bok=Creek/stream; Luksi=Turtle; "Turtle Creek"). I found an article that references a 1950 McAlester newpaper article regarding Camp Bucklucksy and the burial of 9 Confederates there in a common grave. Their remains were ultimately moved to Oak Hill Cemetery in McAlester. I have identified several of the men as being in Martin's 5th Texas.

Another possibility is Bok Lusa (Black Creek) which is in McCurtain County near Wheellock Mission.

Historians disagree on whether the word "Biloxi" is Choctaw and/or if the Biloxi Indians were originally a Choctaw clan. I haven't run across a place in Oklahoma that is close to "Biloxi" other than the two instances above. Perhaps Boluxie (variously spelled) is "out west" and not of Choctaw/Chickasaw origin.
