Re: LOST! Company B, 27th Texas Cavalry

Have done that and also checked Ron Brothers and John Rigdons pages. They all list Company B men of Whitfield's Battalion, which was transfered as Co H to Stirman's Battalion. Names match. In Stirman's Regiment Company I, was I, 6th Texas Cavalry Regiment, Company K was H, 9th Texas Cavalry Regiment. They were attached to Stirman only for Corinth and Hatchie Bridge.

But after Company B was transferred to Stirman, Whitfield still had 4 Companies. He and Hawkins then recruited 8 more companies. The combined roster of the 27th has not produced another b Company. I have started through the 27th at Footnote.com. I have completed Company A and Murphy's Arkansas Company B. I will go back to that alphabetical listing and see if I can locate more men from the phantom B.
