P.P. Brown was in Capt. J.B. Anderson's Company I, cited in my Name Index as:
.
ANDERSON, John Bailey Anderson (1815 Caldwell Co KY-1886 Fannin Co TX) m-Nancy M. Eaker; Burford's 19th Cav, Co D, Sgt (Capt, Co I, Bourland's Regt)

Major Simeon Hart selected men -- and boys -- of North, Northeast Texas, who evidently appeared not to be engaged in the War effort, and assigned them to "appropriate" military units. ..Don't forget, toward the end of the War, many non-Texans had arrived. Below is from my Name Index:
.
HART, Simeon Hart, b-1819 NY; m-Jesusita; 1860 El Paso cen p52 (Major, QM, F&S CSA) .. a wealthy Texan
.
I now believe that Simeon Hart coined the term "Doomas Company" ... probably from whole cloth. ... maybe a fictitious Dracula- or Frankenstein-type character. ..I've spent an embarrassing number of hours trying to connect "Doomas Company" to the Dumas family of the 1860 Grayson Co TX cen p184 .. nothing. ..
