From what I know, He could have filed a pension request in Mississippi before he died or she could have filed her request in either. You may have to check the Mississippi archives for both a pension and a widows pension and Texas for widows pension. To check Texas is easy, but the copy of the request will cost. Probably be the same in Mississippi. So of the other guys on this board may have other solutions.
