Col. Duff's Regiment served on the North and West Frontier during the last year of the Civil War, commanded by Colonel James Bourland after Feb 10, 1865. Duff is mentioned in nine (9) letters to and from Bourland, the first is between the *** asterisks below.

Respectfully returned. It is hoped that with the assistance of force sent to you -- [C.L.] Pyron's [CSA

capture the deserters and the livestock.
