I am seeking information for a book on Confederate guerilla John P. Gatewood (operated in GA, TN, and AL). He moved to Texas post-war and settled there. His cousins and old commander, Willis Bledsoe, settled in Johnson County, TX. Several of his victims' families were actively seeking him (to exact revenge) so he seems to have flown below the radar, but he married and fathered at least one child and lived in the area south and east of Dallas. One report (apparently false) has him dying in a gunfight in Waco. Any help will be appreciated and noted in the book.
