Re: Excellent web site for Hood's Texas Brigade

Jim, this can't be the best Texas Brigade site; it doesn't mention the 18th Georgia, part of the Brigade until November 1862, after Antietam, where they fought in the Cornfield. Col. W.T. Wofford, Commander of the 18th, led the Texans at Antietam, Hood having been promoted. The 18th was with them at Seven Pines, Gaines Mill, Malvern Hill, Thoroghfare Gap, Second Manassas. and Antietam. After that, the 18th was transferred to a Georgia Brigade; Toombs', before Fredericksburg. They were behind the Stone Wall in that slaughter, when Toombs was killed. Wofford was promoted to Brigadier General and took over the Brigade. The 3rd Arkansas was then attached to the Texans till the end of the war.
