I am the great-great-granddaughter of Major James W. Swinney
of Company C of the 32nd Mississippi. I noticed that you are
in Texas and wondered if you had any information on Major
Swinney's twin sons, Uranius (Abe) and Augustus (Bass)Swinney.
I know that Abe lived in Temple, Texas at the turn of the
century. I have a photo of Bass and his wife that was made
in Purcell, Indian Territory (Oklahoma) sometime in the late
1800's. I don't know if Bass lived there or was just visiting.
I do know that Major Swinney's youngest daughter, Jimmie
Swinney Bodle, and her husband were among the original
founders of Purcell.
