Hubbard's 22d Infantry; Leonard Main

Mary,
.
Your Leonard Main may be one of the 2,000 plus deserters that collected in the northern Collin County TX area. ..On Nov 6, 1863 about 496 deserters of the 2,000 re-enlisted in the Confederacy, specifically in the Confederate Brush Battalion. ..Notice that by Oct 2008, I had found that of the 496 men who re-enlisted, 24 were from Hubbard's 22d Infantry. ... I haven't recounted lately.
.
I trust that your Leonard Main of Hubbard's 22d Infantry, Company K was from the Anderson County TX area, at least that is where James E. Williams' web page suggested:

.
I am searching for the families of the 185 deserters who re-enrolled in 1863 in the Confederacy in Bonham, Fannin County, Texas.
.
Below is a listing of the CSA military units from which men from VanZandt, Wood, Smith, and Kaufman Counties had deserted then enrolled in the Confederate Brush Battalion. ..Thus far, I have identified 185 men, of 496 total, who were mostly from VanZandt, Wood, Kaufman, and Smith Counties. ..Most were from Denton, Hunt and Collin Counties. ..There were about 2,000 men in the bush when 496 men voluntarily enrolled in the Confederacy, AGAIN.
