James Riley Jones Co H 1st Texas

I am looking for more information on a James Riley Jones, who served in the (1st Texas Reg. Co. H) CSA. This man is to have been from Granger Co. Tennessee, was abt 15 when he signed up for military service. It appears that he was in New Orleans around the time the Civil War started and signed up with John Bell Hood's Texas Brigade there. He fought in several major battles and was captured at Gettysburg, Pa. and sent to a prison later to be exchanged only to have been shot and spent some time in the hospital in Richmond VA. He survived the war but never returned home after the war for some unknown reasons. What I am trying to find out is there is speculation that this man was from Texas and not Tennessee ;because, he went to Missouri after the war and eventually ended up in Texas bringing family members from Missouri with him. Can anyone give me some information on this man and where he was actually from. I have family members records that state he was born in Granger Co. Tennessee. I would very much appreciate any information anyone can give me on the man
