In years past, Texas students were taught that Texas came into the Union under a treaty, which guaranteed Texas certain very special rights. The treaty was rejected by the U. S. Senate, and Texas was annexed by a congressional resolution. I have been unable to locate a copy of this treaty on line. Can anyone steer me to a website that may have it or give me so reliable sourses on this treaty: the contents, the congressional debate, correspondance among prominent persons, newspaper articles. etc. Thank you.
