About a week ago I was visiting kin in SE Texas. They were badly hit by Hurricane Ike last September. Among our "tours" was Sabine Pass which was still devastated. Entry into Dick Dowling Park (Batle of Sabine Pass historical site) was still blocked to the public. Do you know the status of the repairs...and is the national listing based on the hurricane damages or is it due to the industrialization (apparently the center for construction and repairs of huge off-shore rigs) that are lined up along the ship channel including the "battle area."??
