Washington Jefferson Burnett

My G-G-G-Grandfather, Washington Jefferson Burnett joined the Civil War in Waxahachie, Texas. At least that is what I was told by another family member. So, I need to check this out.He was bornJan 1, 1815 in Kentucky and died Mar 12, 1892 in Ennis, Texas. He married Eliza Finley Asbury October 4, 1838. They are both buried in Myrtle Cemetery in Ennis, Texas.

Now, Washington Jefferson Burnett had a brother, Samuel F. Burnett, born September 6, 1820 and I have a (maybe) date of death of (1847 ?), was also in the Civil War, and the information I have on him is - He enlisted May 1, 1861 at Marshall, Texas, K.M. Van Zandt's Co. 3rd Corporal, Seventh Texas Infantry (The Bass Gray's) on firing line nearly 4 years. He was wounded in the leg. He was a prisioner of war and was parolled at Montgomery, Alabama May 13, 1865. Date and place of capture and surrensder not stated. I need to find out if this info belongs to my Samuel F. Burnett, brother to Washington Jefferson Burnett. I have a copy of Commissioner of Pensions, Widow's Apolication for Pension who was iving in Marshall, Texas. Her name was Mrs. Mattie R. Burnett living in Marshall, TX. She said her husband did not draw a pension.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Sandy
