Is there an Index Book in existence that has the Texas Confederate Veteran's and Widow's Indigent Pension Applications indexed to include UNIT (i.e. Battery, Company, Battalion, Regiment)? I know that you can query the state's database by name (Veteran or Widow) and by county but it does not by unit. It really would be a good project for someone in Texas to do. Many, many, many Veterans and there families moved from Georgia, Tennessee, and Alabama after the war and settled in Texas. An Index book like this would allow researchers to follow their trail to Texas and obtain their pension applications.
