William Townsend several variants on him. Cemetery and QM has him as M.S. Townsend, "G" 14th Iowa. GAR list uses the name W.F. Townson and 14th Kansas, but I cannot identify anyone by that name in that regiment. Shows him as deceased 9/1/1864

William W. Wallace "G" Wallace was transferred to Camp Groce and in the December 12, 1864 exchange from that facility.
Some of the variant spellings come from a letter from Peter Wilson in July 1864. A descendant sent me a copy. I will see if I can find it. My material has grown to the point where I am having retrieval problems.
I would appreciate any information that you have on Brownell. If he can be confirmed, I need to add him to the data base.
