Thank you for sending your Frank D. Basket info. Since his wife, Margaret Ming was found in the 1860 Grayson Co TX cen (p155) with her brother Alexander Ming, I am now more sure that the "Pvt. Basket" on an Oct 15, 1864 handwritten document is your Frank D. Basket. ..And by the way, Alexander Ming enrolled in the same Jul 1861 Grayson Co TX militia with Frank D. Basket, that formed the nucleus of Sims' 9th Cav, Co C.

Before I heard from you, I had guessed that the "Pvt Basket" was Frank D. Basket and that he was in Bourland's Company B, since most of the men in Company B were from the Grayson Co TX area.

In the 1880 Collin Co TX cen, Frank D. Basket's 2 children, Mary F. Basket b-1862 and Charles C. Basket b-1864 stated that their father was born in Virginia. ..Question now, where in Virginia?
